Mr Dega continues to take an active interest in research and presentations:

1st metatarsophalangeal joint fusion – results of 104 procedures – poster presentation at British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society – 2005

Audit of wound healing in Foot and Ankle surgery – Part 1 & Part 2.  Prospective study form 2003 -2005.  Both submitted for publication.

Radiation risk in Foot and Ankle practice.  A prospective study presented at the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, 2005, and submitted for publication.

Prospective study on heel pain outcomes.  A study of 120 patients.

Transient migratory osteoporosis.  A prospective study combined with a rheumatologist.

Natural history of chronic foot pain following operative procedures in conjunction with the pain clinic.

Outcomes of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.  A retrospective study.

Mr Dega organises and has chaired the following:

2. 2nd Wexham Park Hospital Foot and Ankle meeting on Sports injuries – 2005
3. 3rd Wexham Park Hospital Foot and Ankle meeting on diabetic Foot problems – 2006

Mr Dega has been invited to speak as part of the faculty to the following meetings:

2. The Egyptian Orthopaedic Association meeting in Cairo – 2005 – (a) “Management of hallux valgus deformity”, (b) “management of chromic ankle sprains including arthroscopy of the ankle joint”.
